![]() All the other Amp flavors are average or worse. The flavor was very sharp and acidic, but a good pick-me-up. I miss Amp Energy Lightning, which was a lemonade-based energy drink. I prefer light-roast, smooth black coffee, too, so I guess I just prefer smooth flavor to bitter). Information may also differ from package labels because of the limited space on some packages. For current information, refer to packaging on store shelves. I know some people prefer or expect a nasty flavor to their energy drinks (some of it is the caffeine, which I notice when using caffeine powder with green tea or other drinks), but I don't and the better flavors minimize it. Product formulation, packaging and promotions may change. I have no idea why Rockstar and Red Bull are still as popular as they are, they aren't that good compared to the others. Some of the Rockstar Juiced ones are okay, but I don't remember offhand which ones. I'll buy Rip It (citrus or sugar free usually) for $1 a can at the local Dollar Tree over those two. In addition, the Red Bull Editions feature the following flavors: Watermelon, Tropical Fruits, Blueberry, Strawberry Apricot, Dragon Fruit, Peach, Coconut, and Juneberry. Rockstar is below average overall, and Red Bull is just about average. Much prefer the ones that have some fruit flavor to even out the taste, though I'll drink the regular ones occasionally. Most "regular" flavor energy drinks of all the brands, especially Monster, have a nasty aftertaste to varying degrees. Better tasting than a lot of diet sodas even, in my opinion. Monster's Zero Ultra and Ultra red are good, too, for no-sugar drinks. ![]() Sugar tastes noticeably better than corn syrup in sodas, unless you have no sense of smell/taste buds. When I tried it the first time I was like, "wow, this is really good", looked at the ingredients, and saw sugar listed. Tastes excellent, a little like coke, and has real sugar. ![]() is there a name for that? Monster burps? I want to say it's the guarana producing that bitterness, but I'm not certain of that. Well, not really the aftertaste, but when you burp and you get that flavor coming back. It is priced at 1.99 per 12-ounce slim can. Khaos used to be my second favorite, but I don't drink it often because there's something bitter to the aftertaste like regular Monster that I don't like, unlike some of their other flavors. The hemp-infused drink is sugar- and calorie-free and will be sold in three flavors blueberry, passionfruit and raspberry cucumber. ![]()
